Our Story

AYFC was founded as a not-for-profit incorporated association in 2022 by a group of passionate people who wanted to change how youth football was delivered in Australia. Specifically, we aimed to provide top-tier training and opportunities to aspiring young footballers regardless of their economic backgrounds.

In 2022, we applied to participate in the Football SA MiniRoos competition; however, despite extensive lobbying and media efforts, we were denied an opportunity. The following season, we made another attempt to join, but this time, the decision was held over until the following season.

The turning point came in 2024. With the support of our local member, the honorary Peter Malinauskas, our Mayor Angela Evans, and some notable others, Football SA granted us permission to play in the 2025 Season. Our inclusion marks a victory not just for AYFC but for every child whose dreams of playing competitive football seemed distant until now.
